Child Protection Program
During the year all classes complete a unit of study related to Child Protection which involves students learning strategies and behaviours to protect themselves from situations of abuse. Students are involved in class discussions of hypothetical stories to ensure that they understand that child abuse is wrong and is not the fault of the child.
All lessons are presented with care and delicacy and are always positive in their approach. Students learn to understand their feelings and recognise signs of comfortable/uncomfortable feelings and situations. Specific names of body parts are also learned. Each year permission from parents is sought so students may complete the program.
